The Big Brothers & Sisters of Goalies Matter

Mentoring is a formal or informal relationship between two people—a veteran Peer mentor (usually outside the mentees' local team) and a younger student. Mentoring is a key component in TEAM development. Mentoring relationships are designed to produce positive developmental and rewarding outcomes with active participation, leadership involvement, proper planning, realistic expectations, and defined goals.

 

The primary purpose of the Goalies Matter Mentorship Program is to support a leadership development culture throughout your lacrosse career and develop a group of highly qualified individuals. It is designed to recognize our goalies’ diverse talents and use those talents in ways that will help them achieve their goals and objectives. Ideally, this is accomplished while creating an inclusive environment, enhancing personal accomplishments, and furthering Goalies Matter towards fulfillment of its mission – to grow lifelong leaders.

 

Both prospective mentors and mentees may apply through the Goalies Matter website. Mentees will be assigned a mentor that has been carefully selected by the Mentorship Program Directors that best suits the needs of the student based on their application.
