The Big Brothers & Sisters of Goalies Matter

Welcome to the Goalies Matter Mentorship Program! We're excited to have you here as we work together to enhance your knowledge in the world of goaltending and help accomplish your personal goals. Our program is designed to provide support, guidance, and valuable insights to help you reach your full potential and hopefully silence the demons of mental health. Let's embark on this journey TOGETHER!

OVERVIEW

Mentoring is a formal or informal relationship between two people—a veteran Peer mentor (usually outside the mentees' wheelhouse) and a younger mentee. Mentoring is a key component in professional development. Mentoring relationships are designed to produce positive developmental and organizational outcomes with active participation, leadership involvement, proper planning, realistic expectations, and defined goals.

The primary purpose of the Goalies Matter Mentorship Program is to support a leadership development culture throughout your lacrosse career and develop a group of highly qualified individuals. It is designed to recognize our goalies’ diverse talents and capitalize on those talents in ways that advance individuals toward their lifelong and career goals and objectives. Ideally, this is accomplished while creating an inclusive environment, enhancing personal accomplishments, and furthering Goalies Matter towards fulfillment of its mission – to grow lifelong leaders and strengthen our mental health..

Both prospective mentors and mentees may apply through the Goalies Matter website. Mentees will be assigned a mentor that has been carefully selected by the Mentorship Program Exec Board that best suits the needs of the mentee based on the their application.
